The Formal Executive: The President
The
Executive
Authority.
      102. (1) The executive authority of Saint Vincent and
the Grenadines shall be vested in the President who, by section
49 of this Constitution, shall be the Head of State of Saint
Vincent and the Grenadines. The President shall be the Commander-
in-Chief of the armed forces of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
             (2) Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, the
executive authority of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines may be
exercised by the President either directly or through officers subordinate
to him.
             (3) Nothing in this section shall prevent Parliament from
conferring functions on persons or authorities other than the President.
(4) In this section, the expression “armed forces” means -
(a) such naval, military or air forces as may be
    established;
(b) the Police Service and the Prison Service in time
    of war or emergency when acting in defence of
    the State; and
(c) such other forces as may be prescribed by
    Parliament.
Functions

      103. Any reference in this Constitution to the functions of the
President shall be construed as a reference to his powers and duties in
the exercise of the executive authority of Saint Vincent and the
Grenadines, and to any other powers and duties conferred or imposed
on him as President by or under this Constitution or any other law.
       104. (1) The general principle applicable to the exercise by
the President of functions vested in him by this Constitution or any
other law is that, in the exercise of such functions, the President
shall act in accordance with the advice of the Cabinet or a Minister
acting under the general authority of the Cabinet.
